Your Nervous System shapes how you navigate your world and how you show up for the children in your life.

Your nervous system platform dictates how you engage with and respond to your world - including how you engage with your children. Being able to be flexible and responsive to the state of our nervous system is how you can achieve a regulated and balanced life. Your nervous system dictates how you manage anger, overwhelm, frustration and how well you can embrace calm, balance and clarity in your life. Learn how to respond rather than react and create space in your own nervous system in order to hold a safe space for the children you care for.

What makes a Regulated Teacher?

Understanding stress, how your nervous system responds to stress and how your stress responses have been “wired” into your biology is essential to overall wellbeing. Using polyvagal tools to access the healing power of the vagus nerve, we will work to rewire these responses, reset your stress platform and heal your nervous system. This means more energy, less burnout, less overwhelm, more responding(less reacting) and an overall increase in wellbeing.

Our course is a one-of-a-kind combination of polyvagal work (the inner world) coupled with capturing safety in the environment (the outer world). We give you hands on tools to ground and support your nervous system so you can go from overwhelm to overflow.

Only when we are in a state of overflow can we fill others cups.

Regulate as a team and gain certification as being Polyvagal & Nervous System Informed.

I'm Ready to Regulate

What's Inside

Part 1: The Autonomic Nervous System & Introduction to Polyvagal Theory

Gain an understanding of the autonomic nervous system (ANS), Stress platforms and how they come to be and how we can use polyvagal theory to start nervous system healing.

We explore the stress pathways of our nervous system, how stress cycles impact our energy and what happens when we don't complete them. We also touch on triggers and get started right away with some polyvagal tools.

Part 2: Stress Platforms, Stress Archetypes and Polyvagal Tools

This week we go deeper into your stress platform and how it came to be. The role of the vagus nerve and mirror neurons on how we show up. We talk about stress archetypes  of adults and children and how these will impact your own co-regulate abilities and why you get triggered. This week we introduce grounding tools to regulate the nervous system 'in the moment' as well as give you more polyvagal tools to reset your stress platform.

Part 3: Rhythm & Ritual as Regulation Tools

This week we start to create sustainability in the shifts we've made so far. We have addressed our internal regulation, and now it is time to create sustainable shifts in the external environment.

We cover how ritual leads to nervous system well-being, why ritual equals safety and how to elevate daily experiences without overwhelming your system. We cover rituals for children, rituals for the adult, the power of sensory cues, Rhythm vs routines and the power of a predictable rhythm.

Part 4: Play & Pottering

This week we go into what children need for play, what play urges are and how to use these to support a stressed child (and adult). We go into regulated and dysregulated expressions of play urges, how to move a child out of a stress response and into regulation through play, ritual and rhythm. We continue to build upon internal regulation to hold space for children & families as well as play in the adult - the importance of teachers 'living' not merely surviving and coming to work alive and full of joy and energy. We also cover how this work can become an anchor with team emotional hygiene.
